Ode to Youth of America

We yell,  scream, whisper and cry,  but in the midst of all … we die,
The guns keep coming, the bullets keep falling, mothers and fathers just keep on calling.
Crowds build across the nation, politicians call it another sensation.
But thousands of lives are at stake, coffins and funerals are not a fake.

Guns … guns … and the Second Amendment, have no bearing on the Second Commandment.
With laws that matter the guns will cease, and America will find a lasting peace.

People of conscience … take control, our children’s lives are more than gold.
We must do more than scream and weep . . . let’s get the guns off the street!
