To reach the conscience of Soul, "Bless My Soul" must rise above the human element of thought and touch the fringes of eternal harmony.

PROGRESS IS DIVINE LAW

Progress is divine Law. Unless man’s laws express equality, justice and impartiality for all, they are not divine. It does not matter how humans seeks to justify laws that discriminate based on individual differences, they miss the boat! Racism and slavery are some of America’s darkest days in seeking to demonstrate a “more perfect union.”

The image of Jane Pittman does not reveal progress in divine law.
American actress Cicely Tyson (as Jane Pittman) takes a drink from a ‘whites only’ water fountain to the consternation of the local authorities in the made-for-televison movie ‘The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman,’ 1974. Tyson, who aged from 19 to 111 to portray the former slave who lived through the Civil War and the Jim Crow era, won two of the series 11 Emmy Awards. (Photo by CBS Photo Archive/Getty Images)

The Pictures – They Tell a Story

PRESIDENT ANDREW JOHNSON

Progress is divine law. President Andrew Johnson became the President after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. Coming from the south, he practically let the South return freed slaves back to slavery
with Jim Crow laws. He is one of the worst presidents in American history.

A Cry of 400 Years

A cry of 400 years,

Streaks across the nation,

No one sees, no one hears,

Faces covered with hurtful tears.

Over miles of unhallowed ground,

Across rivers of waters high,

The journey continues amidst the storm,

Freedom is silent, that’s the norm.

PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Progress is divine law. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves. His wisdom marked a turning point in American history.

The Jim Crow south leads the band,

With hands raised in salute,

Enslavement is here to stay,

It does not matter what others say.

The ghosts of Lincoln rose up again,

Proclaimed freedom throughout the land,

Cries of civil rights rang true,

To quell the violence for me and you.

PROGRESS IN DIVINE LAW: CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL

Blacks pray . . . blacks march. Progress will come. To reveal progress is divine law, marches across the country will continue.

A new way of thinking emerged and grew,

Cries of equality reached the land,

Marches, free banners held high,

Throw out the old, we all must try.

The words, “We can” range loud and clear,

Wall street, main street held them dear,

Suddenly, we heard, “It cannot grow,

We love the past of ol’ Jim Crow!”

FREEDOM IS ADVANCEMENT

Bondage for one means bondage for all.

“Freedom, freedom,” the cries range out,

“The time is now, we cannot wait,

Equally on this land all trod,

We’re one nation under God.”
